Angadi Theru Movie Review | silentcritics.com

Angadi-TheruLooks like a trend is setting with Tamil film directors wherein most part of their movie runs in flashback mode. Most of the recent releases have either the first half in flash back mode or a little more than that extending till the climax. Ayangran International’s latest film Angadi Theru (Market Street) also follows the trend and almost the entire movie runs on flashback. With a debutant hero the movie happens to be a high-risk proposition for the producers and when the screenplay is long and dragging the fate of this product in the box-office is a foregone conclusion. Kacheri Aarambam Movie Review | silentcritics.com

The title indicates that the movie is a full-fledged masala fare. But, there needs to be a difference in the masala else it will not be liked by all. Jiiva who wanting to build a mass hero image has blindly accepted to do this “Kacheri Aarambam” (Concert Begins). Concert here meaning the action between the hero and the villain. Debutant director Thiraivannan having decided to play safe by choosing a conventional subject has fared badly in terms of execution. Read More

Alice In Wonderland (2010) Movie Review | silentcritics.com

Tim Burton’s latest offering in 3D technology “Alice in Wonderland” is quite different from James Cameron’s Avatar in terms of the experience the viewer enjoys. Avatar was also in 3D but the experience it gave was something different and the theatrics were less compared to the usual movies that had released earlier in 3D. Yathumagi Movie Review | silentcritics.com

Love stories are generally meant to be light hearted with dose of sentiment and loads of entertainment. Yathumagi which had a tag line “Love Story 2010” was supposed to fall into the above mentioned category but unfortunately it falls short on many counts. With a debutant in hero Sachin and two film old actress Sunaina as the heroine the movie had some expectations but within minutes into the movie one definitely gets the feeling that the movie is going to be a dud. The story of the movie is nothing new nor the screenplay which is dull and boring throughout. Its all about a girl falling madly in love with a boy and after a few hiccups unite in the end much to the relief of the audience that the movie has finally ended. Read More

The Princess and The Frog Movie Review | silentcritics.com

Walt Disney’s “The Princess and The Frog” is a revelation when compared to other features from the animation major. The main factor that distinguishes this film to others is that for the first time Walt Disney has used a black heroine in the main cast. The character of Tiana is also constructed in such a manner that she is an epitome of hope in a world where she is weighed down by her dream to own a restaurant for herself and works hard to make it a reality. The dream is so heavy considering her not so rosy childhood where her dad was her inspiration and all they led was an ordinary life where all they could manage is only a mediocre meal to satisfy them and people in their locality.
