A movie that created a lot of hype has lived truly up to its expectations. The movie is a cop story but the silver line in this film is the treatment given to an ordinary storyline and full credit to director Hari for the same. The pace of the movie is on full throttle right from the introduction fight of Surya till the end credits roll-over. Both Hari and Surya were under tremendous pressure to deliver a racy entertainer as their previous cop movies in “Saamy” and “Kaakha Kaakha” were absolute entertainers. Incidentally Singam (Lion) is Surya’s 25th film and to be honest he has selected an apt story under a talented director for his landmark film. Read More

Apartment (Hindi) Movie Review | silentcritics.com
The tagline of the movie spills the beans much before one gets to watch it fully. With a tagline that reads “Rent At Your Own Risk” effectively pulls down the suspense element of the story pretty prematurely. Jagmohan Mundhra who wanted to make an original thriller has finally not got more than a re-make of the hit flick “Single White Female”. The characterization is weak, the plot is even weak and the final outcome is just ordinary. When Tanushree Dutta and Neetu Chandra play pivotal roles in the film its a foregone conclusion that the former would be in the thick of things for her acting while the latter would be in for some skin show. In the end if the movie is worth the watch or does it belong to the league of films that don’t live-up to the pre-release hype??? Wrong Side Of Town Movie Review | silentcritics.com
Producers spend a lot of money to churn out extravaganza which leaves the audience spellbound. On the other hand there are producers who do not care about the intricacies of film-making and end up making sub-standard films which are naive and highly predictable. Wrong Side of Town belongs to the second category as the film ends up being a sub-standard product by any yardstick. Read More

Karthik Calling Karthik Movie Review | silentcritics.com
The best thing about Karthik Calling Karthik is the freshness it brings to the table. The movie is such an imagination that no one would have ever thought that such a movie could be made amongst the masala pot-boilers. The promos did promise a lot but the box-office results weren’t on the expected lines. There are two reasons that can be cited for the failure of this movie. First, the second half is not as good as the first half complimented by an uncharacteristic ending. Secondly, the subject taken as the base ingredient for the movie could not be understood by many. “Sura” is a landmark film for Vijay, considering it was the 50th film of his career. Not many actors would have the honor of completing a golden jubilee as the lead actor in as many films. A rare honor but in the end it was all messed up and thanks to the improper story selection from the actor. Fans expected something meaningful from this movie were disappointed and his slump in form seems to haunt him irrespective of the film even being an important milestone in his career. Read More
