The Golden Door (2010) Movie Review | silentcritics.com

To begin with there is nothing new in “The Golden Door (2010)”. The story has been seen numerous times before in ordinary to extraordinary films and the actors who are supposedly in the lead roles have actually no scope whatsoever in the movie to display their acting skills. As a viewer there has always been nothing to rejoice in any mediocre flicks. The director should have thought about the story and the script that he had before him before rolling on with the project. In the end all one gets is an amateurish display of scripting and direction for a no-brainer story. Read More

Invictus Movie Review | silentcritics.com

“Invictus” meaning unconquered looks like a sports movie from the outside but when you sit through the 2 hours and 10 minutes movie you would realize that it is a feel good movie with a blend of politics and sports in the apartheid era of South Africa. The movie begins with Nelson Mandela (Morgan Freeman) getting released after a period of over two decades in prison. He steps to the free world outside at a time when the country is reeling under severe poverty and the crime rate is at an all time high and not to mention the affluent whites still look down at the blacks with disrespect. Robodoc Movie Review | silentcritics.com

“Robodoc” the name itself reveals the plot behind the movie. The movie is all about a robot which is a doctor with a human finish on the outside. This movie is a satire on the doctors and the medicine field else what could be said of a movie that is so insane, has its share of vulgar acts and not to mention few semi-nude scenes. The movie begins with a sleazy lawyer Attorney Jake Gorman (Kenny Babel) whose only job and motive is to sue the medical fraternity and the doctors in particular. The main hospital affected by Jake’s actions is the North Mercy hospital where the doctors keep leaving after cases of negligence gets filed on them. Read More

Vettaikaran Movie Review | silentcritics.com

Sun Pictures who had acquired the distribution rights of Vijay’s 49th film “Vettaikaran” (Hunter) had made sure that the promos are splashed at all possible intervals and it generates the much needed hype and expectations from the audience. Their plan seems to have worked at least in creating the much needed hype but on the contrary the movie ends up being a rotten tomato with a very thin story which has been seen numerous times in various flicks earlier. Avatar Movie Review | silentcritics.com

James Cameron had his previous directorial venture “Titanic” released in 1997. Exactly 12 years later he presents to the world a sci-fi epic called “Avatar” made at a whooping budget of US $500mn. If Titanic was all struggle for the passengers on board the ship to survive, it was no different for the film makers who had a tough time releasing it due to financial constraints. But, once the movie released it marched ahead smashing all records worldwide. “Avatar” thankfully did not have such financial constraints and James Cameron has experimented successfully with technology canning the entire movie in 3D format. Paa Movie Review | silentcritics.com

Amitabh Bachchan proves again and again why he is being called as the first citizen of bollywood. We have seen him don various roles for his previous movies but in this “Paa” his portrayal of the character “Auro” a 13 year old suffering from a rare ageing disorder called Pregoria is truly breathtaking. In this film the real life father and son play role reversal in reel life. The movie directed by Balki (Cheeni Kum fame) is a treat to the viewer in a different sense and this movie succeeds in bringing out the sufferings and human emotions in warranted proportions and in the end all can hope that Pregoria remains a distant history for mankind.
